Jackie Chamoun will represent Lebanon at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics for the second time in her career. In Vancouver, she finished 54th in the slalom. One of two Lebanese skiers in Sochi – Alex Mohbat will ski in the men’s slalom – Chamoun grew up racing in Faraya, about an hour northeast of Beirut, but now lives in Geneva where she works for Rolex.
“It is very nice to represent our country,” Chamoun said. “People are surprised to see us there because they don’t expect Lebanon in the Winter Olympic Games. But we are really glad to have this chance to be a part of the Olympics and be able to exchange with people from other nationalities and talk about our culture and discover other cultures.”
Good Luck for the Lebanese Winter Olympics team.
